SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 20

Recognizing the humanitarian efforts of Marion County Technical Center students for assisting in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Whereas, In January 2006, building construction students from the Marion County Technical Center voluntarily traveled to Algiers, Louisiana, to offer their assistance in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina; and
Whereas, While in Louisiana, these students were able to fulfill community service by performing many facets of the construction profession; and
Whereas, These outstanding students, consisting of Ethan Allan, Daniel Bartolf, Zack Eakle, Donald Edwards, Joey Evans, Aaron Justice, Eric Lucas, Keith Smallwood, Christopher Stone, John Williams and Travis Wolfe, along with their chaperones, John Pheasant, John L. Pheasant, Dennis Markel and Kevin Lough, are to be commended for their unselfish efforts in assisting their fellow Americans during a time of tragedy; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby recognizes the humanitarian efforts of Marion County Technical Center students for assisting in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the students of Marion County Technical Center and their chaperones who participated in this outstanding humanitarian effort.
